Routine Appointments

Once all our on-the-day appointments have been taken you will be asked to submit the medical query the following day from 8am (Monday - Friday). Alternatively, you will be offered a pre-bookable appointment if available.

Your appointment will be a telephone appointment unless advised otherwise. Please do not come to the surgery unless you have been invited to. Thank you.

Urgent Appointments

We understand that some of the appointment reasons above may be urgent, however please take into consideration that if they are not urgent, we urge you to free up the telephone line between 8am to 10am to allocate our on-the-day appointments for those patients genuinely needing on the day urgent care.

Reception Triage

Our aim has always been to ensure patients receive the most appropriate care at the most appropriate time.

To facilitate this, our trained receptionists will ask a number of questions relating to your problem, for example:

  • Name, DOB, confirmation of personal information
  • Brief outline of your condition
  • Have you spoken to your local pharmacy?

For more information, please see our Care Navigation page.

Home Visits

Home visits are for housebound patients or frail patients, and patients who are genuinely too ill to come into the surgery. Lack of transport is not a valid reason for a home visit.

Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls.

For more information, please see our Home Visits page.

Appointment Cancellation

Cancel Your Appointment if You Don't Need It!

Forgotten appointments waste time. Let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your slot to someone else.

How to Cancel

Call us at 020 7639 9622 as early as possible. Cancellations less than 30 minutes before your appointment will be marked as "Did Not Attend" (DNA).

If your appointment is early and lines are busy, call later that day to inform us, and we may reverse the DNA.

DNA Policy

Missed appointments without a valid reason will be recorded, and repeated occurrences may lead to removal from our practice list.

For more information please see our Cancel Your Appointment page.

Blood Pressure Checks

Home Monitoring

If you need a BP check and no other appointment, you'll be asked to take your reading at home and share the results with us.

No BP Machine?

Book a BP check at the surgery with our Healthcare Assistant. Consider buying a BP machine (approx. £15-25) for regular checks, saving trips to the surgery.

If purchasing isn't possible, you may borrow one from us. Machines are limited, require a signed agreement, and must be returned promptly in working order.

Combining Appointments

For convenience, you can book a BP check with another procedure (e.g., blood test), unless you are known to have White-coat Syndrome but note that this might temporarily raise your reading. If it's high, follow-up checks or a BP diary may be needed.

For more information please see our Blood Pressure Checks page.

Chaperones

Patients may request a chaperone for any consultation, exam, or procedure. This can be a family member, friend, or a trained staff member.

Please let us know at the time of booking if you need a formal chaperone to avoid delays. If requested on the day, we will try to provide one, but your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

For more information, please see our Chaperones and Interpreters page.
